Kundli Matching (Guna Milan)

Guna Milan, or Ashtakoot matching, scores the compatibility of two birth charts across eight kootas — Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi — for a total of 36 points. The score is computed from each person's Moon nakshatra and rashi using the Swiss Ephemeris with Lahiri ayanamsa, the same basis as our panchang.

Below you will see the points obtained for every koota, both partners' nakshatra and rashi, the Manglik (Mangal) dosha status for each person, and an overall verdict. Nadi and Bhakoot, together with Manglik compatibility, carry the most weight in traditional matching.
